West Side the Series
West Side is a six episode web-series following two main characters through their relationship with each other and with the music industry in the mid 1970s.
The color palette I chose to work with for this project was yellow, red, and orange. During the character’s time together, the colors yellow and red represent each character individually, and orange represents their relationship. As the story progresses and the characters break up, orange is slowly faded out of the project and replaced with a more versatile color scheme.
The color theory is mot noticeable in the above shot, as the characters are standing in front of a painting displaying their representative colors. When the characters break up, we see this painting again, but painted over with colors representing the main character’s detachment from the red and orange, and replaced with pink and blue.
